It is a most popular in the Jaffna Town. Muslim community is living in the western part of Jaffna town. This mosque had been constructed in 1868 as Madam. Then the committee was formed and constructed mosque in the 1962 and it was elaborated and renovated recently. It is largest mosque in the Jaffna and whenever many Muslim people in rest of the district come to Jaffna, they visit this mosque.
