St. John, the Baptist’s church

                                               St.John,the Baptist’s church is a first Anglian church in the Island. Missionary REV. FR. Christian David (State Preacher) arrived on February, 1801 from India and first divine service was started in 1801. The Governor attended a service at this church in 1802. It was erected and dedicated at the present site. This church was extended in 1964 and it was renovated two times after the civil war in 1997 and 2001.
