Sangarathi matam (resting place)

                                               Sangarathai Matam is situated in Sangaraththai, Vaddukoddai. Matam in Tamil tradition is an one of the cultural identity among the Jaffna Tamils since the ancient period. It is one of the resting places. Ordinary people, devotees, traders who travelled long distance on foot or by bullock carts, places needed to take rest from hot or at night and keep their belongings safety, at this juncture, Matam had been constructed. Chumaithanki and rubbing stone, `Aavuranchu-kal` are associated aspects with Matam. It is always constructed along the roads and streets for the people to take rest
